• What does a more resilient Greater Houston look like, and what do nonprofits need to get there? Join us for an interactive workshop where you will help shape the answers to both questions.

First, we’ll explore how your organization can help ensure the experiences and perspectives of the communities you serve are reflected in the Hurricane Harvey at 10: Building a More Resilient Future landscape study. Through a Train-the-Trainer session, you’ll learn how to use Social Point, an interactive digital platform where residents can share Hurricane Harvey experiences, stories, challenges, and ideas for the future. You’ll leave with the tools to help your constituents participate and contribute insights that will inform the Hurricane Harvey Ten-Year Retrospective Report and help guide future resilience investments across Greater Houston.

Then, we’ll pick up where we left off with the Self-Guided Disaster Readiness Assessment for Nonprofits. At our last workshop, you told us what you liked, and what you didn’t. This time, we’re rolling up our sleeves and designing solutions together. Developed by GHDA, this tool is designed to help strengthen the systems, skills, and practices nonprofits need to serve their communities before, during, and after disasters. It’s not about compliance. It’s about providing easy-to-implement micro-changes that build capacity in ways that work for any size nonprofit.

Come ready to learn, share, challenge ideas, and help build what comes next. Your voice helped identify the gaps. Now, let’s build the solutions.
